GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS


DESCRIPTION: 

 

 

 

 

 

This is an opportunity for girls to come individually, with a friend, or as a Patrol.
Have fun exploring the seashore, swimming in the ocean, canoeing, exploring the area, doing archery and making crafts. Participants will have an opportunity to meet girls from across the province and share in the fun and fellowship of camping
at Camp Olave.

Participants will stay in permanent huts, permanent canvas tents, tipis, or you may bring your own tent if you wish. Please state your preferences on the registration form.

Travel is the responsibility of each participant or patrol. Camp Olave is a 45 minute ferry ride from Vancouver via the Horseshoe Bay Terminal, followed by a 30 minute vehicle ride on the Sechelt Peninsula. Detailed instructions will be sent with the kit list and permission form.

Space is limited to 120 girls per session. Girls may apply for one session only.
Applications will be processed on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.

WHEN:  

Session 1 - July 27 - August 2, 2003
Session 2 - August 3 - August 9, 2003
Participants to arrive between 2 - 4 pm on Sunday, July 27 - Session 1
                                                            And on Sunday, August 3 - Session 2
Departure is at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 2 - Session 1
                                                  Saturday, August 9 - Session 2
 

WHO:

If you are a Brownie, Guide or Pathfinder aged 8 - 14, this camp is for you. Come individually, with a friend or as a patrol of 4 girls and a Guider.
 

COST: 

$225.00 per girl. Full Payment due with application form. Make cheques payable to Girl Guides of Canada - Camp Olave.  If application is sent in before March 31 please postdate your cheque for March 31, 2003. Cheques will not be deposited prior to April 1, 2003.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

All Girls must be members of Girl Guides of Canada and have four (4) nights camping experience ( need not be consecutive), at Brownie or Girl Guide camps, by July 15, 2003.
 

HEALTH FORMS:

A current completed health form for each participant is to be included with the registration form. Each participant should be travelling with a health form on their person.
